Murchison Centre is available for event rental daily until 4.30pm five days a week, Thursday through to Monday, and then Tuesday and Wednesday we can also accommodate into the evening.

We are delighted to provide an experienced rental attendant to assist you during your event with the refreshments, sound and any alterations you may need. Just contact bookings at (902) 628-3655 to provide your particulars. Please note, if your event is catered, the Clean Up fee is applicable. If you prefer to use a caterer of your choice then please provide proof of catering certification. 

Please note that a Commercial General Liability Certificate of Insurance should be provided by any persons or organizations renting the facility.  

Please be aware that all events held at the Murchison Centre support the programs and services of the Canadian Mental Health Association of PEI through the Murchison Foundation Inc. Its a feel good choice that promotes your community consciousness.

Event Cancellation

An event may be cancelled, at no charge to your organization, if you provide us with a minimum 72 hours notification in writing. In 48 hours or less of cancellation notification the event organizers will be liable for payment at 100% of the event cost. Murchison Foundation reserves the right to cancel an event at anytime. Storm dates will not be accepted prior to an actual storm, but will be rearranged as and when necessary.

Large Event Bookings are priced per event, please contact bookings or call 902-628-3655 for personalized event pricing. Please ensure the setup details you submit are accurate as we always strive to prepare the meeting space in accordance with your instructions. 

Room Configurations and Description

The layout options listed below are examples only to give the potential user an idea of the relative size of the rooms available and some possible room layouts to consider. We customize layouts for each event and work with you to accommodate your needs. We no longer offer round tables but can accomodate a similar style with rectangular tables.

The schematics depict Theatre (no tables), Cabaret (single tables, chairs on both sides), Forum (double tables in clusters with 8-10) this option is good for group work and is similar to using round tables without the need for chair turning at the front.

U-shape (using rectangular tables) and Classroom (single sided, rows with some aisles) style layouts.

Other layout options, as listed in our online Rental Form, are available and include the following:
Hollow Square (using rectangular tables), Board Room (using rectangular tables) and Other (using your imagination!).

 

Layout 1 The Blue room (smaller room) with a Theatre style setup plus a head table can seat about 80.To view a schematic of this setup, click on Layout #1.
Layout 2 The Blue room, with a U-shape setup can seat at least 22 people. To view a schematic of this setup, click on Layout #2.
Layout 3 The Blue room, with a Cabaret style setup can seat about 55 people (seating 5 at each table). 
Classroom Style With the Classroom style setup we can seat up to 75 people in one room and 150 in both rooms (rectangular tables using one side only). To view options of classroom styles, click on Classroom Style Red Room
Layout 5 The Red room, with a Theatre style setup can accommodate a maximum of 250 people (using the elevated space along the LHS).  To view a schematic of this setup, click on Layout #5.
Forum Style The Red room,with a Forum style setup (rectangular tables) can seat about 96 people (using the elevated space along the LHS). To view a schematic of this setup, click on Forum Style 1. Very popular for small group work and large participation.
Layout 7 The Purple room (combining the Blue and Red rooms), can seat up to 400 people Theatre style. To view a schematic of this setup (showing a setup for 245 people), click on Layout #7.
